William (Bill) H. Jacobs

William (Bill) Jacobs, age 71 of Omro, formerly of Kewaunee, died on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at his home.  He was born on February 7, 1946 in Kewaunee to the late Erwin and Norma (Nimmer) Jacobs.

Bill graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1964.  He then served in the U. S. Army Reserves from 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1982.  He married Susan Enser July 24, 1971 in Two Rivers.

He worked most of his life for the City of Kewaunee, first in the Street Department and later for the Water & Sewer utility until retiring 2008.  He and Sue moved to Omro last year to be closer to their daughter, Shari.

Bill loved fishing, playing softball and  dart ball, watching Nascar and  was an avid fan of the Packers and Brewers.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffrey and Christy, Sheboygan; Michael and Melissa, Appleton; one daughter and son-in-law: Shari and Brian Ziebell, Omro; four grandchildren: Deanna Jacobs; Ryan Jacobs; Kari Ziebell; Braden Ziebell;  one sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and James Trzynka, Ossian, IN

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Herman and Esther Enser and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Janice and George Jamison.

Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation continues at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.  A funeral service will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating.  Burial with full military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crossroads Care Center of Weyauwega and Heartland Hospice of Fond du Lac for their care and compassion given to Bill and his family.

A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer’s Association.
