William “Bill” J. Doperalski, 77, Kewaunee, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2024. Bill was born on April 16, 1946, to the late Chester and Betty (Lazansky) Doperalski.  On October 25, 1975, he married Sara Schrevens and they had four children, whom Bill was very proud of: Mark, Nick, Tim, and Joe.  Sara preceded him in death on May 4, 2000.

Bill was born and lived his life in Kewaunee.  After working on his family’s farm Bill worked at Moe’s bakery during high school.  After high school Bill attended barber school.  Bill did three tours in Vietnam, serving in the Navy as a Seabee.  Bill spent his adult career working as a salesman at Steen-Macek.

Bill was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved planting trees on his property. He was a long-time member of the Kewaunee Swamp Trap Club…we’re not sure for how long, but he told us that he was a member “for many years and many beers”.

After retirement Bill enjoyed driving his “neighborhood route” stopping at Footbridge and Janda’s to sample the chili and Busch Light.

Bill always enjoyed his terrier dogs and is survived by BeBe, who will miss him dearly.

We hope Bill has found a ballgame or a NASCAR race to watch and is having a Busch Light and a bowl of chili.

Bill is survived by his children, Mark Doperalski, Nick (Adele) Doperalski, Tim “Goat” (Amber) Doperalski, Joe Doperalski; grandchildren, Beau, Seven, Lucky, Clover, August, Lee, James, Sarah, Adeline, Elouise; his fiancé of 21 years, Gail Herlache; and her children, Terry (Dawn) Herlache, Kelly (Heide) Herlache, Chris (Mark) Stangel, Chad (Robin) Herlache, Amber Herlache; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Mariah, Georgia, Jack, Lyndsey, Brady; his brother, J.W. (Phyllis) Doperalski; in-laws, Susan Morrow, Linda Schrevens, Mary (Jim) Boucher as well as by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara; his parents, Chester and Betty Doperalski; and brothers-in-law, Victor Schrevens and Steven Morrow.
