Wilfred H. Massart, "Porky" 96, Green Bay (formerly of Luxemburg), WI passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014. Wilfred was born September 5, 1918 in Misere, WI to the late Joseph and Mary (Crevier) Massart. He graduated 8th grade at Roosevelt School, Misere. Wilfred married Esther Rass, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 1958. He then married Virgil (Johnson) Gretz on January 23, 1960, she preceded him in death on July 29, 2006.
Wilfred owned and operated the Luxemburg Motor Company with his wife Virgil, until he retired in 1994. At that time he sold the business to his son, the late Dennis Massart Sr. and grandsons, Dean and Dennis Massart Jr. Wilfred had also farmed in the Misere, Claybanks, and Casco area. He worked in the shipyards in Sturgeon Bay and Kewaunee, and was a milk hauler, that is where he picked up the name "Porky".
He enjoyed his garden in which he would grow his potatoes, tomatoes, and raspberries, usually with some to spare for the neighbors. Wilfred had seen many changes during his lifetime such as the automobile, indoor plumbing, and electricity. He enjoyed telling these stories to family and friends.
Wilfred is survived by his children, Carol (Ken) Ouradnik, Luxemburg, and Alan (Mary) Massart, Kaukauna. Grandchildren: Todd (Mary) Ouradnik, Casco, Shaun Ouradnik, Madison, Steve (Alexis) Massart, Milwaukee, Rachel Massart, Kaukauna, Brenda (Al) Reckelberg, DePere, Dean Massart (fiancAC. Gail), Poland, Jackie (Ian) Bouche, Dyckesville, and Dennis Jr. (Laura) Massart, Luxemburg. Wilfred has 7 great grandchildren. Also, surviving are a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Boulanger, and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Massart.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Massart and a brother Edwin. Wilfred lost his son, Dennis, who died in an accident on June 26, 1999.
Friends may call at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Casco, WI on Monday, September 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. Rosary Monday evening. Visitation continues on Tuesday until 10:30am at the funeral home. Funeral Mass, Tuesday, September 23, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
