Virgil Skarvan, age 89 of Kewaunee died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Linden Manor in Kewaunee. He was born on April 2, 1928 to the late Wenzel and Theresa (Wettering ) Skarvan.
Virgil was a retired electrician. He enjoyed listening to polkas, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle, building something out of nothing and fixing anything broken. He served in the U. S. Army from November 1950 to November 1952.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Bob Faivre, Henderson, NV; Karen and Ray Christnovich, Abrams, WI; one son and daughter-in-law: Dean and Sherri Skarvan, Lexington, KY; eight grandchildren: Beth (Steve) Barnekow; James (Lauren) Christnovich; Anne Christnovich; Ryan (Sarah) Christnovich; Jill (Scott) Reuss; Scott (Stephanie) Skarvan; Sean Go; Adam Go; ten greatgrandchildren, with one due April 9th; one brother: David Skarvan, Two Rivers. He was preceded in death by his sister: Marie (Glenn) Kunesh; three brothers: Norbert Skarvan; Kenneth Skarvan and Eugene Skarvan.
Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Saturday March 10 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. followed by a military flag presentation.
The family would like to thank the great staff at Linden Manor, Unity Hospice, and the Bellin Cancer Clinic for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the CLL Society Inc. (cllsociety.org), or The Prostate Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
