Verna F. Witcpalek, age 96 of Manitowoc, formerly of Kewaunee, died on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center. She was born on June 5, 1925 in Kewaunee to the late Joseph G. and Josephine (Blahnik) Fiala.
On November 27, 1943 she married Harold J. Witcpalek and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1995.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed camping for many years at Frontier Wilderness Camp Grounds at Egg Harbor, WI. She waitressed at numerous restaurants and retired as a housekeeper at the Kewaunee Health Center.
Survivors include five daughters and one son-in-law: Diane Teddleton, Sturgeon Bay; Mary Witcpalek, Green Bay; Sandy Schlies, Manitowoc; Cathy Brouchoud, Mishicot; Laurie and Merle Stauber, Kewaunee; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Rick and Barb Witcpalek, Kewaunee; Mike and Darlene Witcpalek, Kewaunee; Bruce Witcpalek,, Kewaunee; a sister: Julie Kotyza, Kewaunee; a step sister-in-law: June Novotny; nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and special friend, Susie Rohde and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren and three sons-in-law: Ted Teddleton; Dennis Schlies; Brian Brouchoud; two step brothers: Harvey (Elaine) Novotny and Robert Novotny; a step sister: Mabel Swintkoske; two brothers-in-law: Joe Kotyza; Joe Witcpalek; a sister-in-law: Fern (Glen) Magle.
Friends may call after 10:45 a.m. Wed. Jan. 26 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until 11:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon by Fr. James Dillenberg. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
