Vergil Charles

Vergil M. Charles, 99, Kewaunee, passed away on August 17, 2024, after living a long, and full life. She was born to George and Rose (DeBaker) Decremer on November 16, 1924, in the Town of Red River, WI. She married Clarence Charles in Dyckesville, WI on September27, 1944. Clarence preceded her in death on January 1, 2017.

Vergil loved being a mother, and her family was extremely important to her. She and Clarence lived and farmed in Duvall until moving to Kewaunee in 1985. They found joy in square dancing and loved a good polka. They enjoyed traveling and took many bus trips around the country.

Vergil is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Nick) Vandervest; daughter-in-law Judy Charles; grandchildren Chad (Ashley) Charles, Charity (Jeff) Hartjes, Renae Schlies, Josh Vandervest; great grandchildren Taylor, Grace, Claire, Joey, Eve, Jake, Max and Saul.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; her parents George and Rose; and her son Gary.
