Steven Michael Witcpalek

April 17, 1978 — February 22, 2018

Steven M. Witcpalek , 39, of Kewaunee, left us unexpectedly on Thursday February 22, 2018.  He was born on April 17, 1978, to Michael and Darlene (Paul) Witcpalek. He was a graduate of NWTC and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.  Steve worked at Pagel’s Ponderosa as the Operations Manager.  He married Jamie Pagel on October 25, 2002 at the Stangelville Catholic Church and had three beautiful children.

He was a loving, devoted husband and father.  Steve was one of the most amazing men that spent his life helping others.  Steve touched so many with his kindness, infectious smile, jokes, laughter, and humorous personality.  His life revolved around family, friends, and his dog Mojo.  He had a passion for hunting and living life to the fullest.  He was one of the greatest men who will live on forever in our hearts.

Steve is survived by his wife Jamie Witcpalek; his children Brooke, Braelyn and Brex; his parents Michael and Darlene; sisters, Tammy (Jason) Last, Jill (Eric) Webster, Paula (Phil) Dowd, and Kristi (Nick) Saxby; Grandma Verna Witcpalek; Grandma Lorraine Eesley; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Steve was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Harold Witcpalek; Grandpa Joe Paul; Godfather Bob Eesley; and cousins Sarah Koller, and Matt LaTour.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 2, 2018 at Kewaunee High School from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 8 p.m. lead by Deacon Chuck Agnew. Visitation will continue at the High School on Saturday March 3, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee at 1 p.m. with Monsignor Jim Dillenburg, Fr. Milton Suess, and Deacon Chuck Agnew officiating. Online condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.

Steve always said “When my time comes, celebrate the wonderful life I lived and don’t mourn my loss.”  He wanted people to wear colors instead of black so we ask you to wear whatever you want that reminds you of Steve.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established through Nicolet National Bank, Kewaunee for Steve’s children. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all their family, friends, and staff for all the caring and support they have shown during this difficult time.
