Shirley Mae Griep, born December 5, 1935, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on February 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband Glenn and her family.
Born on December 5, 1935, to Mabel (DeDecker) and Edward Tremble, Shirley grew up surrounded by love and support. On October 22, 1955, she married the love of her life, Glenn, with whom she shared an incredible journey spanning 68 years. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and commitment. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother finding joy in every moment she spent with her large family that consisted of 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and growing.
She was often found in her kitchen cooking and baking for her family. She spent many hours praying for her family and friends and enjoyed playing cards, polka dancing, taking bus trips to the casino, watching her birds, ice fishing, watching the Packers, and especially loved her kitten Sassy.
She is survived by her husband Glenn, children Sue Mielke (Brian DeGrave), Mike (Lisa) Griep, Mark (Brenda) Griep, Greg (Jody) Griep, Shelly (Eric) Murphy; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; Siblings Jeannette (Jack) Bellin and Dennis (Becky) Tremble, sister in-law Gloria (Larry) Yeoman. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Verna and brother Edward and her granddaughter Autumn.
Family and friends may gather at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church – Rosiere on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 8-10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Entombment to follow at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
