Ruth E. LeCaptain

Ruth Elaine LeCaptain, 82 lost her battle with acute leukemia on Thursday, August 15, 2024. As Ruth trusted in Jesus as her Lord and Savior, she is now in heaven with Him!

She was born on November 17, 1941, in Casco, Ruth was the daughter of Elmer and Mildred (Flavion) LeCaptain. She graduated from Casco High School in 1959 and soon after moved to Chicago, where she began her career with Travelers Insurance. Ruth dedicated 39 years to the company before transitioning to State Farm Insurance, where she served for another 29 years.

Ruth had a heart for service, volunteering with the Salvation Army and actively engaging in her community. She found joy in bowling, water aerobics, and playing baseball, and she loved to travel.

Ruth is survived by her siblings: Donald (Joan) LeCaptain, Robert LeCaptain, and Joyce Page; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, including Sharon (Randy) Nowak, Mark (Rachel) LeCaptain, Karen (Al) LeRoy, Jim (Bridgett) LeCaptain, Kristal (Luke) Ferron, and Lynette (Ben) Champeau. Ruth was also blessed with a large circle of friends in Chicago who became her second family over the years including those at Lombard Gospel Chapel.

In addition to her parents, Elmer and Mildred, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother Jule, her grandparents Henry and Louise LeCaptain, Bill and Louise Flavion, and her dear friend Shirley Webster.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 21 at Country Bible Church in Casco. Visitation will be at 3pm until the time of service at 5pm. Ruth will be laid to rest at Gospel Truth Cemetery, Lincoln. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at KinnardFCS.com.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her niece Sharon, her sister Joyce, Aurora Hospital and Unity Hospice Care for their compassionate care and to Bob Stiener for providing pastoral support to Ruth during her final days.
