Ruth Hockers , 87, Casco, passed away at Ledge View Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was born on April 10, 1926 to the late Raymond and Catherine (Palmer) Vergets in De Pere, WI. On October 25, 1947 she was united in marriage to Milton (Sonny) Hockers. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002. Together they had 5 children. Ruth was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and loved to travel. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Holy Trinity Rosary Society, Casco. She was a wonderful seamstress and sewed and mended for many people at her home in Casco.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Henry "Butch") Boulanger, Beverly (James) Dhuey, Kay (Edward "Butch") Jeanquart, Teri (James) Opsahl, Keith Hockers and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Agatha Hockers and Grace Hockers.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Robert and Norbert Vergets; brothers-in-law, Alfred and Clem Hockers, Servenius Schelfhout and sisters-in-law, Stella Hockers and Lorraine Schelfhout.
A private service for Ruth's immediate family will be held at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Casco. Entombment in Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolence messages may be expressed here .
