Ruth Cornette , 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Helping Hearts in Luxemburg. She was born June 5, 1929, in the City of Green Bay to the late Jule R. and Dora (Jandrain) Moureau. She married Arnold Cornette, the love of her life, on August 23, 1947, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2000.
Ruth was a very hard worker and there was no project she wouldn’t tackle. She & Arnold ran the farm where she truly enjoyed side raking hay. Ruth was the Red River Town Treasurer following Arnold’s death until she retired at 80. She learned the computer in her 80’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Jim & Barb Cornette, and Lee & Kathy Cornette; one granddaughter, Dr. Michelle Cornette; 6 grandsons, Paul (Amy) Cornette, Rick (Amber) Cornette, Tom (Amanda) Cornette, Nick (Heidi) Cornette, Andy (Ashley) Cornette, Ryan Cornette; 7 great-grandchildren, Riley Hall, Brogan Hall, Emily, Christopher, Myles, Memphis, Elena Cornette. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Allen (special friend Mary) Moureau, Wayne (Janice) Moureau; and 3 sisters, Martha Neuser, Phylis Pagel, and Carol Jean Diaz; sister-in-law, Rosemary Heim. She was preceded in death by her parents Jule & Dora Moureau; husband, Arnold Cornette; grandson, Chris Cornette; 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Herman (Jean) Moureau, Arthur (Sharon) Moureau, Raymond Moureau, JoAnn Moureau; 2 sisters and 5 brothers-in-law, Lucille (Bill) Hoell, Verna (Calvin) Collins, Donald Neuser, Gerald Pagel, Gilbert Diaz; one former brother-in-law, Dick Perra, and Arnolds’ family, Eddie & Irene DeCremer, Louis & Orpha Ferron, Wilfred & Emma Cornette; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Louis Church – Dyckesville, from 9-11 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Ted Hendricks officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Ruth.
