Robert Heiter, age 85 of Kewaunee died on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 8, 1932 in Kewaunee to the late Edwin and Viola (Evenson) Heiter.
He attended Kewaunee High School and then entered the U. S. Navy from 1950 to 1953.
He married Carol Nenahlo April 26, 1958 and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2015.
Bob and Carol operated several gas stations in the area for a number of years. Bob also worked for Manitowoc Crane Co. for several years.
He was a long time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee, where he served on a number of committees, he was a very active member of American Legion Post 29 of Kewaunee serving as commander and post chaplain. He and Carol enjoyed going up North to their cabin in Newald, WI where they were avid snowmobilers.
Survivors include four children: Vickie (Randy) Kliment, Manitowoc; Bradley Heiter, Black Creek; Rebecca (Daniel) Peterson, Amherst Junction, WI; Jessie (Christopher) Kraemer, Salem, OR; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Ruth Wilke, Milwaukee; Shirley Rush, Campbell, CA; Kathy and Glen Kellerman, Green Bay; one brother-in-law: Robert (Rosemary) Nenahlo, Two Rivers; one sister-in-law: Marie Schefchik, Marshfield and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Krista Peterson; one sister and brother-in-law: Marlene (Frank) Brusky; brothers-in-law: Charles Wilke; Leo Schefchik; and John (Jean) Nenahlo.
Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1000 Dorelle St. Kewaunee, until time of services. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating. Full military rites will follow the funeral service at the church.
