Robert “Bob” J. Hale, 78, Kewaunee, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side after a battle with cancer, on February 28, 2025. He was born in Illinois to the late Lynwood and Mildred (Devroy) Hale on March 21, 1946.
Bob’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. He was a true outdoorsman, often known as “Salmon Bob”. He loved spending time in nature, fishing, hunting, and searching for mushrooms. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool with family and friends.
Bob was extremely selfless, always willing to share his time helping others. He mentored many on fishing and was always generous giving away smoked fish and venison.
He was a property manager in Kewaunee for the past twenty-five years. Previously he worked for a talent agency, booking bands and other entertainment events.
Bob is survived by his children, Chris (Jean) Hale, Chad (Erin) Hale, Ryan (Kelly) Hale, and Michelle (Joe) Haider; grandchildren, Camden, Paydin, Harper, Quaid, and Sullivan Hale, Everett and Edison Haider, and Maxx and Jackson; his fiancée Kathy Crosby; Kathy’s children, Chris and Samantha; and Kathy’s grandchildren, Kenzie, Maddie, Marlee, and Hannah; his sisters, Donna Pantzer and Bernadette Hale-Vanlue; the mother of his children, Rhonda Hale; further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is now reunited with his parents; his sister Theresa “Teri” Canzonier; and his good friend and cousin, Henry Larmay.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee. A prayer service and time for sharing memories will follow at 3:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the new Waterfront Banquet Hall. Burial will take place at a later date in Howard. Online condolences can be shared at KinnardFCS.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Bob’s name. Special thanks to Bellin Cancer Care Team and Unity Hospice for the care given to Bob.
