Robert J. Andrews, age 91 of Cary, died on June 8, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. Bob was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, to the late Daniel and Mary (Cassidy) Andrews. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as an accounting supervisor and in 1955 married the love of his life, Peggy Duffy.. Later they moved from Chicago to Cary, a town he loved dearly.

Bob was a true servant; he was generous, selfless, thoughtful, and genuinely devoted to his wife and family. He was gifted with a tremendous heart for the poor, especially by serving for many years at McHenry County PADS and The Port in downtown Chicago. Bob was also active in the community by coaching Little League and serving as Village Treasurer..

Wherever Bob served, he made a tremendous difference. He will be greatly missed, yet the impact he made will live on.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Peggy; four children: Theresa (Mike) Polyack; Eileen (Deacon Chuck) Agnew ; Mary (Richard) Ring; daughter-in-law Bea Andrews (son, Mark, who preceded him in death); fourteen grandchildren: Kathryn, Elizabeth, Dan, Andrew, Mary, Annie, Spencer, John, Caitlin, Becca, Rachel, Tim, Maggie, and Katie; eleven great grandchildren; three siblings: Jack (Marilyn) Andrews; Mary (Jim) Devereaux; and Margaret (the late Herb) Gary; and many extended family members and dear friends.
