Richard "Dick" Lamack

Richard (Dick) Lamack , 81, of Kewaunee, WI passed away at home on Friday, January 6th, 2023, with his wife Nancy at his side. He was born in Menominee, MI on July 8, 1941, to Roland and Hannah (Monson) Lamack.  On August 21, 1965, he married Nancy Carlson in Pontiac, MI.

Dick enjoyed his many years of teaching physical education to middle school students. In his personal time, he enjoyed swimming, camping, canoeing, and biking. He also enjoyed painting, wood carving, and taking part in his book club.  He loved having coffee at Kunkel’s and attending his grandkids’ activities.

Dick was also very active in the community.  He was an active member of Community Congregational Church, a longtime member of the Kewaunee Optimists, and a founding member of the Build the Future Foundation. In addition, Dick worked many summers as a camp counselor, was a local boy scout leader, swim instructor, and middle school football and basketball coach.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; children, Jim (Julie) Lamack, Kewaunee, Jana (Bill) Ostrowski, Green Bay, and Andy (Angie) Lamack, Denmark; grandchildren, Josh, Hannah, Elizabeth, Luke, and Jordan Lamack, Andrew, Alex, and Annika Ostrowski, Olivia, Calvin, and Mya Lamack; One brother-in-law Ken O’Connor; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Hannah Lamack; and twin sisters Janet Lamack and Janice O’Connor.

Friends may call from on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am at Community Congregational Church, Kewaunee.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am with Pastor Rick Koch officiating.  Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.  Kinnard Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
