Kewaunee - The family of Norbert John Wotachek lost a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, wonderful brother, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and friend when God called Norb home to Heaven unexpectedly on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the age of 61.
Norb was born on June 24, 1959 to George and Adela (Schleis) Wotachek. Norb was the 10th child of 12 and grew up on the family farm in Tisch Mills. Norb graduated from Kewaunee High School and then furthered his education at NWTC with an associates degree in Drafting and Design. Norb’s working career started with the Corps of Engineers. He later transitioned to home building and remodeling with his own business Wotachek Custom Homes for 20 years. In 2010 he switched careers to an over the road truck driver working for American Service Lines and Fox Valley Alfalfa Mill.
Norb was very active growing up playing in various sports such as football, baseball, fast-pitch softball, wrestling, and bowling. He also enjoyed the outdoors whether it was skiing, golfing, fishing, or hunting.
Norb married his love, Faye Mueller, on September 28th, 1985 and just celebrated 35 years of marriage. They resided in Kewaunee raising their three children, Brittany, Cory, and Alex. In 2011 Norb and Faye relocated to Green Bay. Norb was a devoted father and a very loving husband. He was especially active in his family's lives growing up attending sporting events, being active in scouts, hunting and fishing, or traveling to various places.
Norb was a hard worker and always there to lend a helping hand putting others before himself. He always had a witty comeback or joke and could crack a smile out of anybody. He was hard pressed to turn away from one last old fashion or beer before he left any gathering. His personality and presence could brighten any room.
Norb is survived by his Wife, Faye, and their children: Brittany (Steve) Digmann, Cory Wotachek, and Alex Wotachek; grandchildren: Maxwell and Mason Digmann; Siblings, Paul (Pat) Wotachek, George (Caroline) Wotachek, Kathy (Tony) Rathsack, Jerome (MaryJo) Wotachek, Bernard Wotachek, Raymond Wotachek, Joe (Missy) Wotachek, Ann (John) Fecteau and Donald (Tina) Wotachek. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Also, two aunts and one uncle, Sister Theresa Schleis, Jacob and Delores Schleis, two sisters-in-law Lois Tulachka, Kaye (Ron) Paplham, tow Brothers-in-law Lee (Lori) Mueller, Jim Cherveny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Adela Wotachek; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lester and Betty Mueller, Siblings David Wotachek, Barb Wotachek; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wotachek, Lisa Cherveny and Patti Mueller and one great niece Madeline Wotachek and one great nephew, Cody Paplham.
Family and friends may visit at Buchanan Funeral Home, 1425 Ellis St. Kewaunee, on Tuesday, March 30th, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A prayer service will be at 7:00pm. with Dcn. Chuck Agnew. Visitation will continue at Buchanan Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31st from 9:30am until 11:30am. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00pm at Holy Rosary, 521 Juneau St. Kewaunee, with Fr. James Dillenburg officiating.
