Nathalie Mae Iwen , 85, of Hobart, WI, passed away, on January 29, 2023. Nathalie was born on July 23, 1937, to the late Chester and Rose (Bouche) Delain in Casco, WI. On February 27, 1960, she married Andrew Iwen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Casco. A graduate of Casco High School, Door-Kewaunee Teachers College, and U.W. Oshkosh with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1970, later earning her Master’s Degree also from U.W. Oshkosh. She started her career teaching in a one room school house in Kewaunee County and retired as a Librarian from the Green Bay Public School System, having worked in multiple elementary schools. In her free time, she loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and traveling.
Nathalie is survived by her husband, Andrew; her children, Cynthia Charles-Iwen, Glen (Kim) Iwen, Loren (Sue) Iwen; grandchildren, Samantha (Benjamin) Grigg, Myles (special friend Brooke Nguyen) Iwen, and Maximilian Charles; sisters-in-law, Laurell Delain, Andrea Iwen and Edith Honnef; as well as by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Rose Delain; step-mother, Ruth Delain; brother, Ronald Delain; in-laws, Fred and Adelia Iwen; brothers-in-law, Donald Honnef and William Iwen.
Visitation will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church – Casco from 9 am -11 am on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Tony Birdsall and Deacon Bob Miller officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
