Myron H. Obry, 66 of Kewaunee, WI, went to his heavenly home on Christmas Eve 2017 at home surrounded by his family. His devotion to his family and his strong faith in God ultimately gave him peace.
Myron was born to the late Raymond and Helen (Keup ) Obry on February 8, 1951. Myron was baptised into the Christian Faith and received his sacred teachings found in the Holy Scriptures confessed by the Lutheran Church through his rite of Confirmation on April 11, 1965. Myron was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the school board in past years.
On January 30, 1971, Myron married Grace (Fager) Obry. Together they were blessed with four loving children and 11 grandchildren. Myron's pride and joy was having his family together and considered himself blessed beyond measure. He was passionate about his faith and said to look to Jesus and you will find your way. Myron lived by his Confirmation passage "Fear not; I am thy Shield and thy exceeding great Reward" Gen. 15:1.
Myron was employed by Kewaunee Fabrications LLC as a welder for 48 years until his retirement. Myron also worked at Bay Shipbuilding, Mastercraft, and Manitowoc Crane. He drove semi for Lakeshore Enterprises and worked on the railroad for a brief time.
Myron had a passion for truck pulling and with the help of his sons he pulled competitively over the last several years. Myron loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He had the opportunity to fish Canada several times with his brothers. He also made several hunting trips to Colorado. Myron enjoyed going up north to the camper for fishing and bear hunting.
Myron is survived by his loving wife Grace, and children: Chuck (Angela) Obry and their children Megan, Mariah, Tristan, Brendan, Cameryn; Jason Obry and his children Justin, Nicole, and Brooke; Scott Obry; Kevin (Stacy) Obry and their children Brayden, Haley and Jonah.
Myron is further survived by his siblings: Gene (Carol) Obry; Glenn (Meredith) Obry; Merlin (Kelli) Obry; Gloria (Jim) Zemple; Bob (Deb) Obry; Paul (Janice) Obry; Kathy (Tom) Vanness; Michele (Jim) Kitzinger; Lowell (Ruth) Obry; Al (June) Obry, Beverly (Chris) Kohnle. Sister in law Jean (Don) Bucholtz and Brother in law Dave (Karen) Fager and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myron is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Helen (Keup) Obry and inlaws Milton and Mae (Roggenbau ) Fager; a sister-in-law: Connie Obry.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday December 29 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1012 Wisconsin Ave., Kewaunee with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
