Mary Jane (Marsicek.) Schanilec

Mary Jane Schanilec, age 94 of Kewaunee died on Monday, August 2, 2021.  She was born on June 10, 1927 in the Town of Casco to the late Louis and Beatrice (Seeman) Marsicek.

She married Arthur Schanilec on June 5, 1946 at Holy Trinity Church in Casco.  He preceded her in death on May 5, 2007 after sixty years of marriage.

She and Art operated a farm in the Town of West Kewaunee most of their lives until retiring to a home in Kewaunee where they grew one of the largest flower and vegetable gardens in Kewaunee.  She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Church, now St. Therese Parish and the W.F.L.A Lodge 365 of Kewaunee.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law: Richard and Angie, Oshkosh; David, Luxemburg; John and Gail, Mishicot; Leonard and Mary, Green Bay; Glenn and Linda, Two Rivers; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.  One sister-in-law: Mabel Marsicek, Manitowoc.  She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law: Betty and Bill Eagan; two infant children; one brother and two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, East Krok with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating.  Entombment will be in Knollwood  Mausoleum.  At her request, there will be no visitation prior to the Mass.
