Mary Ann Novak, age 82, of Manitowoc, died peacefully on January 12th after a long battle with cancer. Mary Ann was born on December 4th, 1941, in Two Rivers to Anton and Gertrude (Nesper) Nemetz.
Mary Ann was raised in Two Rivers and eventually lived in Larabee on her family’s farm. Mary Ann attended schools in both Two Rivers and Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959. Mary Ann started her career at Northern Wisconsin Produce, then furthered her bookkeeping education at LTC, and later working at Roorbach Flowers. On April 8th, 1961, she was married to Bernard Novak at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Francis Creek.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed playing card games like Bingo and Cry Baby and competing in Shut Box and Spin to Win with her family and friends. Mary Ann loved being outside and enjoying nature. She looked forward to Sunday mornings with her daughter going for walks around the block and picking Lavendar flowers along the way. She enjoyed the gardens at Shady Lane while soaking up as much sunshine she could. We will miss her dearly, but we embrace that fact that all her pain and suffering are gone, and we are comforted to know that we will one day be together again in heaven.
