Mary D. (Chartrand) Bolm

Mary D. Bolm passed away Friday February 4th 2022, Mary arrived in this world February 3rd 1933. being born in the heart of the depression she was taught many life skills by her parents Isadore and Theresa (Cashin) Chartrand.   Skills like cooking , sewing, knitting and even marksmanship, even shooting a rat out of her beloved bird-feeder when it scared away her birds.

She attended Escanaba schools and Michigan State University only having to leave early to help care for family.

After the return of the love of her live Russell O. Bolm from the service, They eloped to lower Michigan to be married on January 18 1958.

They went on the have two wonderful children, Michael R. Bolm of Tisch Mills, WI and Theresa M. (Bolm) Haese of New Franken, WI.

After living in several locations she settled with her family in Tisch Mills, WI. Mary worked as an assistant librarian at Marquette middle school for many years indulging her love of children and books. She then entered the banking world and worked as a teller and loan officer at multiple locations including Tisch Mills, Mishicot and Two Rivers, WI.

She was a long standing member and patron of St. Isidore the Farmer parish in Tisch Mills working in many positions including CCD instructor, Eucharistic minister and office worker.

Before retirement she and Russ returned to the U.P. to build their retirement cottage in Stonington, MI. She loved to spend long weekends and holidays there with her grandsons Maxwell Haese of DePere, WI and Sawyer Haese of New Franken, WI

The time there was spent indulging in her passions for reading, watching and feeding the birds, and doing cross stitch, lots and lots of beautiful cross stitch,(we are still finding cross stitch pieces at the house).

The good lord felt Mary had worked hard enough and with the love of her life at her side and listening to “Oh Danny Boy” she was reunited with passed family and friends.

To welcome her home were her parents, her sister Jackie Thorsen, Brothers-in-laws Ronald Thorsen and Richard Siering, Paul Bolm, Carl Mott, and sisters in law Nancy Bolm and Doris Mott and many Aunts and Uncles.

She will be missed by Her Husband of 64 years Russell Bolm. Son and daughter and son-in-law Frank Haese, Grandsons and nieces and nephew, cousins and close friends and neighbors.

Services will be held for Mary at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish in Tisch Mills on February 16th starting at 10:00 with Mass at 11:00 lead by Father Dennis Drury and assisted by Christal Wavernick.

The family truly appreciates the excellent care provided by all the staff at Kewaunee Health Services and Unity Hospice who made a difficult time a little easier
