Mark K. Hirst

Mark Hirst, age 52 of Kewaunee died with his family at his side on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 after a short battle with leukemia. He was born on November 14, 1964 in Green Bay to the late Roger and Kathleen (Goforth) Hirst.

Mark graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1983. After high school, he worked for his uncle, Chuck, on a commercial fishing boat in Florida. While in Florida, he became a certified Scuba Diver. After graduating from N.W.T.C., he started working for the Kewaunee Nuclear Plant until his retirement in May 2017.

He was a member of the Road Rebels Motorcycle Club for over twenty years. Mark loved to travel, whether it was work related or pleasure. He was able to attend both Sturgis and Daytona with the Harley. He was a long time Green Bay Packers season ticket holder and attended Super Bowl XLV with brother, Paul, in Dallas, TX. Mark had a passion of collecting guns, motorcycles, snowmobiles and vehicles. He had a love of animals, owning lots of cats and dogs over his lifetime. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his fiancé: Valerie Knoll; her children: Jordan (Jolene) Knoll, Kewaunee; Miranda (Shane) Murphy, Kewaunee; Trey (girlfriend, Patricia) Knoll, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Embree and Aleah Murphy; Bailey Knoll; two brothers: Paul Hirst; Alan (Brenda) Hirst both of Kewaunee; one sister: Janice (fiancé, Gary Weekes) Hirst, Green Bay; also aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Hirst.

Friends may call at Buchanan Funeral Home after 3:00 PM Sunday Aug. 27 until the prayer service at 7:00 PM.

The family would like to thank Froedtert Hospital ICU staff of Milwaukee and the outpouring support from many, many friends.
