Margaret (Margie) Stangel, age 89 of Kewaunee died on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center. She was born in Green Bay on June 30, 1931 to the late Albert and Regina (Kaster) Froelich.
She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1947. She then married the love of her life, Daniel Stangel on December 29, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1995. She and Dan operated a dairy farm in the Town of Carlton until 1989. She was the consummate farm wife who welcomed anyone and everyone to her table.
She was long time member of Holy Rosary Parish and the Rosary Society, along with volunteering at any place she could in her church or community including helping to launch a food pantry at Holy Rosary Church.
Survivors include eight children: Jeff (Kay) Stangel, Algoma; Tom (Kayte) Stangel, Kewaunee; Sue (Steve) Sevcik, Kewaunee; Jane (Paul) Jadin, Green Bay; Bill Stangel, Madison; Michael (Ike) (Heidi) Stangel, Kewaunee; Mark (Chris) Stangel, Kewaunee, Joe (Janel) Stangel, Kewaunee; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; ten brothers and sisters: Catherine (Fred) Mastalir; Tress (Dave) Barta; Ken (Jan) Froelich; Bob (Lynn) Froelich; Jim (Marlene) Froelich; Ann (Dutchie) Froelich; Gladie (Chuck) Schommer; Mary (Dick) Augustine; Mike (Chris) Froelich; Charlie (Shirley) Froelich and a sister-in-law: Joan Froelich. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patti Stangel, one infant son, John; one infant grandchild, Julia Stangel and one brother, Fran Froelich.
Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. James Dillenburg. The Mass will be live streamed at www.holyrosarykewaunee.com. Go to "Parish" and click on "Watch this weeks Mass". Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
