Malionie Rose (Buhr) Deprey

Malionie Rose Deprey , Algoma, WI passed away on Friday, January 6th at the age of 92.  She was born in Algoma, WI on October 18th 1930, to Peter and Louise (DeBouche) Buhr.  She married Orville Deprey on April 12, 1950. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2001. Together they had one son, Roger, and two daughters, Violet and Gloria.

Malionie will be fondly remembered for her passion for plants, being very organized and for how much she enjoyed playing baseball with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Roger (Merry) Deprey, Casco; two daughters and sons-in-law, Violet (Roy) Mertens, New Franken, and Gloria (Joe) Feld, Algoma; grandchildren, Chris (Amee) Mertens, Andrea (Nic) Beining, Jason (Ann) Deprey, and Holly (Jeremiah) Wendricks; great grandchildren, Alaina and Aliese Mertens, Alex and Maci Beining, Madison, Morgan, and Maya Deprey, Kirstin and Kaiden Wendricks; sister Clara Engebose and brother Eli Buhr; sisters-in-law, Barbara Buhr and Laura Buhr, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Deprey; brothers Tony (Ella Mae) Buhr, Peter Buhr, Nick Buhr; a sister Louise (Elmer) Krause; infant sister Margaret and brother-in-law, Harvey Engebose.

Per Malionie’s request there will be a private family visitation from 12pm to 1:15pm, at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Casco on Monday, January 9th, 2023. Funeral service to follow with Father Looney officiating at 1:15pm.  Entombment to follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
