Lillian C. Ledvina, age 100 of Pilsen passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Silver Leaf Manor in Kewaunee, where she resided for the past six months. She was born in Pilsen on June 5, 1918 to the late Joseph and Anna (Granchalek) Cisler.
She married Emil Ledvina on July 17, 1940 and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1942 due to a drowning accident. Leaving Lillian a single mother with her thirteen month old son, Bob. She was determined to make it on her own, doing numerous and retired from Leyse Aluminum Co., now Vollrath in 1980 after thirty years of employment.
She was a devoted Catholic, saying numerous Rosaries daily, attending daily Masses and all of the weekend Masses. She found great comfort being in church, helping out at funeral dinners and assisting the pastor. She was known for all the flowers she raised and planted around her house and St. Joseph Church in Pilsen which was across the road from her home. Besides all of the flowers, she also had a large vegetable garden well into her nineties.
Lillian loved her family and was proud of them and valued their visits. In her younger years she enjoyed having them over for Sunday dinners.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Robert and Sandy Ledvina, Pilsen; three grandchildren: Dr. Kay L. (Brian) Prendergast PhD; Scott Ledvina; Todd (Tracy) Ledvina; six great grandchildren: Ashley (Dave) Paplham; Travis (Tiffany) Ledvina; Tanner (special friend Nicole) Ledvina; Jordan (special friend Sarah) Ledvina; Jared and Alaina Ledvina; five great great grandchildren: Jude; Eloise; Graham Paplham; Lydia and Logan Ledvina; one sister: Emily Johnson; one sister-in-law: Irene S. Ledvina.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Mary Beth Ledvina; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Mike and Mary (Mleziva) Ledvina three brothers: Joseph (Gertrude) Cisler; Wencil (Shirley) Cisler; Albert (Marie) Cisler; two sisters: Josephine (Elmer) Rolkasky; Rose (Glenn) Lannoye; three brothers-in-law: Carl (Bill) Johnson; Joe (Margaret Ledvina) Weas; Jerome (Jerry) Ledvina.
Friends and family may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 18 at St. Therese, St. Joseph Site, Pilsen until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dennis Drury at 11:00 a.m. assisted by Christal Wavrunek. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Silver Leaf Manor and Unity Hospice for the great care and concern that they gave Lillian and her family. Also thank you to everyone that visited her, brought her food and called her which enabled her to stay in her home as long as she did. A special thank you to Fr. Dennis for always being there for her.
