Karen Barrette, age 78 of Kewaunee died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. She was born on November 23, 1942 in Kewaunee to the late Walter F. and Leona (Zuzanek) Berkovitz.
Karen married Paul Barrette May 14, 1960 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1988. She worked at Bernard Company in Two Rivers and Fiala’s Fish Market in Kewaunee. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Addisen and Noah, playing cards, reading and camping.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Dennis DuBois; two grandchildren: Addisen and Noah DuBois of New Franken; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Dennis, Jerry (Bearcat (Linda) and Dale (Hokey) Berkovitz; one sister: Janet Ebert, Algoma; a brother-in-law: John Barrette, Green Bay; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Frances and Jerry Murray, Tigerton and brother-in-law: Roger Olszewski of New Holstein and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter Jr. Sylvester (Pinky), Gilbert (Skiffer); two sisters: Sharon and Sandra Berkovitz; one sister-in-law: Mary Olszewski; nephews: James and John Mueller; niece: Kim Berkovitz; brother-in-law, Harold (Butch) Ebert and one sister-in-law: Mary Ann Barrette.
Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Msgr. James Dillenberg, which will be live streamed at www.holyrosarykewaunee.com. Go to “Parish” and click on “watch this weeks Mass”. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
