Joyce M. Heim

Joyce Marie Heim, 76, Casco, passed away on September 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1947, to the late Norman and Maime (Vandervest) Monfils. Joyce married Lloyd Heim on August 6, 1966, and together they raised 3 wonderful children and worked together on the family farm.

Those who knew Joyce know that she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Joyce was a proud farmer, finding peace and joy in working the land and tending to her yard flowers with care or cutting the lawn. Her green thumb was matched only by her talent in the kitchen, where she would cook up hearty meals for all the farm employees who became like family to her. She also loved to visit the cottage on Legend Lake, it held a special place in her heart, where she spent countless happy days basking in the beauty of nature and wonderful times with her family. When she wasn't busy cooking or tending to her yard, Joyce could be found enjoying a little bit of gambling or trying her luck at bingo.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her children, Rod (Heidi) Heim, Scott (Carrie) Heim, Jeremy (Kari) Heim; grandchildren, Kelsey (Cody) Rass, Abigail (friend Brandon) Heim, Samuel (friend Erin) Heim, Brett (friend Kaitlyn) Deprez, Brianna (friend Jericho) Heim, Logan (friend Hannah) Heim, Kiley Heim, Benjamin (friend Brookelin) Heim; great-grandchild, Harper Rass; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Peter) Bader; Jayne (Glenn) Gaszak; stepsister, Jane (Scott) VanLaanen; brother-in-law, Wayne Heim; sister-in-law, Sue Vaness and Don; by many nieces and nephews, as well as by all of her Heim's Hillcrest family of farm employees.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Maime Monfils; brothers, Charles Monfils, and Don Monfils; sister, Shirley (Roger) Wautlet; father- and mother-in-law, Ray Sr. and Florence Heim; brother-in-law, Ray Jr. and his first wife Ruby as well as his second wife Rosie Heim; and sister-in-law, Patsy Heim.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services - Casco with a prayer service at 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:45 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco, with Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Daniel Schuster officiating. A special thank you to the first-floor staff at Aurora Hospital for the great care given to Joyce. And, a special thank you to Diane Haszel who traveled this 5 year long journey through cancer with Joyce, being there through every doctors appointment and being by her side through it all, becoming a great friend.
