Joyce was called home to be with her Lord at the age of 88. She passed on December 28, 2017, peacefully at home with her daughter in Wisconsin.

Joyce was born in Brookville, Indiana to Russell J. and Opal Lavon (Butler) McMillan on March 15, 1929. She was the oldest of 9 children. She was married on December 24, 1945 to Perry J. (Tom) Martin in Newport, Kentucky. They left Kentucky for Michigan where they had 3 daughters.

Joyce enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, bowling, traveling the country in their R.V., collecting porcelain dolls, and volunteering and spending time with her church family. She was happiest being a wife, mother, grandmother (NaNa), sister and friend to all she met.

Joyce is survived by 2 daughters, Bonnie (Martin) Abrams (Bruce) and Janie (Martin) Mohney (Mark); sisters Doris Burnette (Bob) and Marlene Martin (Jim); brothers Don McMillan (Agnes), Russ McMillan (Gail) and Tom McMillan; sister-in-law Margaret McMillan and family friend Sandy McMillan.

Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, Bruce (B.J.) Abrams (Rebecca), Brad Abrams (Jenny), Jason Spangler (Chris), Amanda Strand (Shaun), Missie Pearson (Tim), Megan Word (Matt), Sarah Mohney-Kelley (Chris) and her 19 great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her 1st husband and father of their 3 girls, Perry J. Martin; her middle daughter Rhonda Rae (Martin) Spangler (Charles); her 2nd husband, John Harris; sister Sharyn Thompson (Jim); brothers Carl McMillan (Cel), Lloyd McMillan and both of her parents.

Joyce will be missed greatly and loved eternally. Please join her family & friends by honoring her life on May 19th, 2018 at the Quincy United Methodist Church, 32 W. Chicago St., Quincy, Michigan 49082 at 12:00 pm. Graveside service at Hill cemetery on Red Arrow Hwy in Lawrence, Michigan at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to Quincy United Methodist Church, 32 W. Chicago St., Quincy, Michigan 49082 or the National Osteoporosis Foundation ( www.nof.org ).
