Joseph F. Strnad , 87, of Casco, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Algoma to the late Joseph and Kathryn Strnad. Joe married Carol Laurent on October 10, 1950 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Lincoln. Joe spent his life as a farmer and then worked at Hamilton in Two Rivers until his retirement. He enjoyed cutting trees to make wood, playing cards, spending time up north with family. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Joe is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol; his children, Kathy (Dennis) Cravillion of Casco, Christi (David) Probst of Howards Grove, Andy (Janelle) Strnad of Kewaunee; one son-in-law, Joe Beckers of Green Bay; 13 grandchildren, Casie (Matt) Machut, Rory Cravillion, Carly Cravillion, Carey Cravillion, Tony Cravillion, Sarah (Mike) VandenAvond, Christopher (Dawn) Tielens, Lindsay Beckers, Alison Probst, Rachel Probst, Jonathon Probst, Justina Strnad, Brennon Strnad; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Ralph) Ropson of Algoma; brother, James Strnad of Algoma; brothers-in-law, Arnold Dart and William Pickett.
He is preceded in death by daughters, Linda Strnad; Julie Beckers, Jennifer Strnad; grandson, Benjamin Probst; sisters and brothers, Edward Strnad, Mary (Richard) Gabriel, Dorothy (Donald) Defnet, Rosemary Dart, Katie Pickett; and sister-in-law Harriet Strnad.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November, 27, 2016 at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Casco from 4 to 8 pm with prayer service at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue Monday morning, November 28, 2016 at the funeral home until 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr.
