John "Jackie" L. Recker

John “Jackie” L. Recker , 94, of Kewaunee passed away on March 19, 2023. He was born on July 20, 1928 to the late Leo and Marie (Vondruska) Recker. John served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion for 65 continuous years. He enjoyed all music, especially country, watching sports, playing softball, playing sheepshead, and watching birds. He was an avid reader and he enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

John is survived by his nieces and nephews, Laurie (Steve) Murray, Jean (John) VanRybroek, Wendy (Dan) Jerabek, and Charles (Bonnie) Kasal;  also survived by many great & great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marie Recker; and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Charles) Kasal.

Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church – Kewaunee on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 4-5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 5:00 pm with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery with full military rites. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
