Johanna Vandermeulen, 92, Casco, passed away Sunday September 2, 2012 at Bellin Memorial Hospital. She was born October 7, 1919 in the Town of Luxemburg to the late Louis and Catherine (Rank) Treml.
She married Jule Vandermeulen on August 6, 1971 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco. He preceded her in death June 14, 1973.
Johanna was a longtime Girl Scout leader, gardener, bird feeder and crafter. She had a special back porch full of flowers and chairs for anyone to visit and enjoy. She was a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and also a member of the Holy Trinity Altar Society.
She is survived by, nieces and nephews, Marcia Treml, Ed and Gayle Treml, Wilber and Jean Doell, Judy and Warren Rehfeldt; special friends, Dennis Dhuey and his family: Eric (Patty) Dhuey, Jessica (Mark) Durham, Chris (special friend Angie) Dhuey; special neighbors Lee and Michelle LeLou and daughter Corina (special friend Darren) LeLou, LaVerne Dhuey. She was preceded in death by an infant brother Alois; three brothers, Anton Treml, Isadore (Eleanore) Treml, Joseph Treml; four sisters, Katherine Treml, Margaret (Joseph) Schlager, Sister Naomi (Rosie) Treml, Mary Treml; one special God child, Pat Dhuey.
Friends may call at Wiesner and Massart Funeral Home, Casco on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 4-7 pm and Thursday morning at the funeral home until 10am. Rosary, 6 pm Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco with Fr. Tom Farrell and Fr. Milton Suess concelebrating. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
