Joan M. (Ledvina) Fameree , 82, New Franken, was welcomed into heaven on September 8, 2018. Joan was born in Luxemburg on January 20, 1936 to the late Mike and Margaret (Seidl) Ledvina. In 1953 Joan married her high school sweetheart from Casco, Sam Fameree, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2007. Together they began raising their family on their farm in Slovan, WI where they farmed for 35 yrs. They also owned and operated Sambo's Café in Casco for 5 years. Joan was also a janitor at the Luxemburg-Casco Junior High School and worked at P & J's Café as well as Moxie's Supper Club.
Joan was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish and the Casco Lions Club. She enjoyed babysitting the grandkids, gardening, taking walks, cooking for the elderly, spending quality time and visiting with her large circle of family and friends. Her sense of humor provides cherished memories for those she holds dear.
Joan is survived by her four children, Curt, Judy (Dave) Parmentier, Sam (Terri) Fameree, and Joan (Paul) Derenne; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brother, Tom Ledvina; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Ethel Heier, Elsie Gengler, Ernie (Mary Ellen) Fameree, Dale Vandervest, Mary Ann Fameree, and Tobi Sterett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Fameree; parents, Walter and Margaret (Seidl) Weas; two sons, Joe Fameree and Rick Fameree; father- and mother-in-law, Ernest & Emma Fameree; step-mother, Libby Fameree; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol Ledvina, Merle Nelson, Gene Heier, Betty (Joe) Arendt, Al Gengler, Orville (Audrey) Fameree, Rita (Loyd) Heraly, Jeanette Vandervest, Jim Fameree, Allen Fameree, Frank Fameree, and Emmy (Rudy) Hanaman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12th at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Casco from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Bob Miller. Visitation will continue at the funeral home, on Thursday, September 13th from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr.
