Janet R. Dequaine , 81, Algoma, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 with her family by her side. Janet was born in Algoma on October 7, 1935 to the late Louie and Jennie (Jandrin) Tassoul. She married Marvin Dequaine on November 29, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Algoma. Marvin preceded her in death on September 9, 2015.
Janet worked for the Olsonite Corporation for 49 years. Not only was she hard-working, she was a sports enthusiast who loved spending time with her family and caring for her grandkids. She also loved gardening, cooking and baking especially during holidays with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and Rosary Society, Algoma.
She is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, Wendy (Mark Zastrow) Dequaine of Algoma and daughter Heather (Barry) Doering of Green Bay--great-grandchildren, Emily, Cadence and Urijah; Kathy Dequaine of Mesa, AZ; Amy (Jim) Benesh and daughter Hailey of Sturgeon Bay; Shelly (Eric) Englebert and children, Brock and Payton of Brussels; and Chad (Jenny) Dequaine and children, Cora, Tyler and Clara of Neenah; brothers and sisters, Carol Karas of Sturgeon Bay, Judy (Arlen) Wery of Algoma, Ron (Sandy) Tassoul of Luxemburg, Linda (Wally) Karnopp of Sturgeon Bay, and Terry (Sharon) Tassoul of Casco; sisters-in-law, Geri (Dick) Wessel of De Pere and Darlene VanDrisse of Pardeeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents Louie and Jennie Tassoul; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Louise Dequaine, three grandsons Parker and Porter Englebert and Tristan Dequaine; brother Alvin (Rosie) Tassoul; brothers-in-law, Wayne Karas and Sherman VanDrisse.
Visitation will be held at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Algoma on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Algoma. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with Father Peter Stryker officiating. Entombment to follow on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd, Green Bay. Online condolence messages may be expressed here .
