James F. Wautlet, 86, Casco, passed away on January 3, 2025. He was born on February 3, 1938, to the late Fred and Lucy (Monfils) Wautlet. He married Verna Jadin at St. Martin Church in Tonet on October 21, 1961. Together Jim and Verna spent their life tending to the land and devoted countless hours to their farm in Casco, where they established roots and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Jim was not just a farmer; he was the heart of his family. He took immense pride in his children, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter. He loved to reminisce with a deck of cards in hand or while enjoying a friendly game of bowling. While he worked tirelessly on the farm, he always found time for spirited card games and moments of laughter with his family. In his retirement, Jim found adventure and excitement during casino trips with his beloved wife, Verna.
Jim is survived by his children, Linda Wautlet, David Wautlet, Diane (Dan) Massart, Sharon Neuzil, Dennis (Tracy) Wautlet; grandchildren, Brian (special friend Andrea Innes) Wautlet, Matt Massart, Erin (Kyle) Lemens, Travis Worachek, Jacob Neuzil, Gina Wautlet, and Michael Wautlet; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Myron (Kathy) Jadin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Wautlet; son-in-law, Robert Neuzil; his parents Fred (Lucy) Wautlet; infant brother, Norbert Wautlet; brother, Vernon (Loretta) Wautlet; sister, LaVerne (Wilbur) Vandertie; father- and mother-in-law, Orville and Alice Jadin; and sisters-in-law, Delores (Jim) Baudhuin, Audrey (Allen) Gilson, Martha Jadin; brother-in-law, Robert LaCrosse; nephew, Rick LaCrosse; and niece, Sue Jadin Hernandez.
