Jamie J. Thayse

James "Jamie" J. Thayse, 53, Casco, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1971, to Gary and Sharon (Gilson) Thayse in Green Bay.

In his younger years, Jamie worked side by side with his family on the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATVs and snowmobiling. He bowled and shot pool for Joe Rouer's, and he enjoyed playing softball with his high school buddies. As his children, Maddy and Max, began participating in sports, Jamie could often be found on the sidelines cheering them on. He was very proud of their athletic accomplishments.

Jamie started his career with J. Jadin Inc. Afterwards, he was a proud 34-year employee of the Kewaunee County Highway Department where he was a skilled heavy equipment operator and forged many strong friendships with his co-workers. He will be deeply missed by the "Hillside Shop" and his co-workers.

Jamie is survived by his children, Madysen (Trevor) LeRoy, and Maxwell Thayse, both of Green Bay; his father, Gary Thayse, Casco; his siblings, Lori (Mike) Hucek, Luxemburg, Todd (Deb) Thayse, and Greg (Cheryl) Thayse, both of Forestville, and Kim (Gary) Gomand, New Franken; the mother of his children, Melissa Olmsted; He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jamie was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Thayse; and his grandparents and godparents.

Visitation will take place Friday, January 10, 2025, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Kinnard Funeral Home - Casco followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at St. Peters Church in Lincoln. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Rex Palaya officiating. Burial will be at St. Hubert's Cemetery - Rosiere.
