James J. Rohr

James Rohr, age 83 of Kewaunee died unexpectedly on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at home.  He was born on July 27, 1937 in Kewaunee to the late Florian and Clara (Chapek) Rohr.

He graduated from Holy Rosary grade school and Kewaunee High School in 1957.  He then served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.  He married Jean Helbick on April 12, 1958.

Jim worked for Hamilton Manufacturing and also operated a charter fishing service our of Kewaunee for many years. He was an avid hunter and outdoors man.  He and his five brothers enjoyed several hunting trips to Wyoming over the years.  He enjoyed spending time and maintaining his property in Rostock.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife Jean of over sixty-three years; one daughter and son-in-law: Jane and Peter Peterson, Washington, UT; three grandsons: Matthew, Jason and Jeremy; one granddaughter: Ashley (Brent) Reimer; eleven greatgrandchildren: Anthony, Aaron, Mackenna, Deegan, Abel, Alexis, Ryan, Kristine, Anakin, Max, Zoey; two brothers: Bill (Cathy) Rohr, Mike Rohr both of Kewaunee; sister-in-law: Carol Rohr, DePere, sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Bonnie and Donald Thor, Kewaunee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Robert and Nancy Helbick, Green Bay; brother-in-law: Daryl Sijak, Crandon. He was preceded in death by a son: Patrick Rohr; three brothers: David, Tom and Florian Jr. Rohr; three sisters: Florence Vlasak, Nancy Rayome and Joyce Sellers.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services.  A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Dcn. Chuck Agnew officiating.
