James “Jim” Craig Engelking, 49, of Algoma, WI, after a 2-year battle with brain cancer, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Jack and Engred Meng Hospice Residence in De Pere, WI. He was born on April 21, 1974, to Craig and Barbara (Nee Marit) Engelking in Algoma, WI. Jim was a very caring and compassionate person, helping anyone when in need. He was an avid music lover and loved playing his guitar.
He is survived by his mother, Barb Engelking; his stepson, Tyler Gauger (friend Miranda); brothers and their families: John and Dena Engelking and their family, Savannah (friend Charles), Jonah, Jonathan, Brandon Herne, Nathan and Crystal, Wing and David, Andrew and Beth Engelking and family, Elise and Ethan, Aaron and Dana and family, Scarlett, Marshall and Libbie, plus by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Craig Engelking; maternal grandparents, Ruby and John Marit Jr., paternal grandparents, Veles and Rev. Edgar Engelking, and uncles Scott and Keith Engelking.
Jim attended NWTC Green Bay with an associate degree in electronics and a degree from Red Wing, Minnesota Technical College in Electronic Music Technology. He worked for A&A Security, Green Bay, Door Guard Security, Sturgeon Bay, Good Guys ProAudio of Minnesota, and lastly at Jandu Petroleum station in Algoma.
Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rankin on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Visitation will take place from 9-11 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am with Dr. Rev. Christopher Jackson presiding. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Algoma is assisting the family with arrangements.
