Jacob “Jake” E. Huber, 88, Kewaunee, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Jake was born on October 22, 1935, in Carlton, WI to the late Victor and Irma (Schermetzler) Huber. He married Janet Brooks on July 24, 1965at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Askeaton, WI. Jake served in the U.S. Army and later worked for Kewaunee Engineering as a Press Brake Engineer. He enjoyed working with metal, welding, and woodworking. Making things to give away to events and the church. He enjoyed cutting firewood, he made his own sawmill. He was a member of the Stangelville Catholic Order of Foresters, the Holy Name Society in Tisch Mills, and he was very active in his church, he loved spending time with Janet while they bowled in the bowling league.
Jacob is survived by his wife, Janet; brother, Richard Huber; sisters, Laverne Selner, and Ethel (Maynard) Kuehl; sisters-in-law, Betty (Marvin) Rademacher, Judy Brooks, and Alice Brooks; as well as by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Irma Huber; in-laws, Henry & Mary Brooks; brother, Robert (Arlene) Huber; sister, Nancy Huber; and In-laws, Leonard Selner, J. Wilmer (Helen) Brooks, Mary Alice (Paul) Skell, Joseph (Betty) Brooks, Adrian Brooks, Rose Ann (Fred) Ponschock, Sister Mary Henry (Grace) Brooks, Richard Brooks, Theresa (John) Kemkes, Virginia Brooks, Jacob Brooks, Franklin (Janelle) Brooks, Henry L. Brooks, Rev. Charles Brooks, Roger “Duke” Brooks; Nephew, Rick Skell.
Visitation will take place at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church – Tisch Mills, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 10 am – 12 noon. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial to follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Norman, with full military rites. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee is assisting the family.
