Ione L. Starr , 93, of Algoma, passed away at Oak Creek Assisted Living Center in Algoma on March 2, 2015. She was born April 5, 1921 to the late Julius Busch Jr. and Martha (Pagel) Busch. She graduated from Algoma High School in 1938. She Married Victor Starr on December 10, 1949 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma, he preceded her in death on April 23, 1995.
She enjoyed crocheting, but her passion was sewing and making homemade dolls, Barbie and Ken and Cabbage Patch clothes which she sold at craft sales. She enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers, playing Sheepshead at the Kewaunee senior center and Yahtzee at Oak Creek Assisted Living. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Diane (John) Cmeyla, Dale (Susie) Starr, Vicki (Scott) Vlies, Dean Starr. Grandchildren, Jennie (Shane) Fenendael, Cory (Julie) Cmeyla, Jessie Cmeyla and special friend Jesse Steele, Joy (Dan) Starr, David (Sarah) Starr, Martha Starr, Jamie (Aric) Schmiling, Robin Vlies and special friend Jason Muench, Terri Vlies, Josh Starr and 16 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Victor, grandson Christopher Cmeyla, parents, brother Roy, brothers and sisters in law.
Visitation will be held at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Algoma, Thursday, March 5th, from 4-8pm Prayer Service at 7pm with Pastor John Moll. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 9:30-11am funeral service to follow at 11am with Pastor Tom Moldenhauer officiating.
