Germaine L. Chase, 84, of Kewaunee, passed away on January 18, 2023. Germaine was born on November 8, 1938, to the late Royal & Marie (Vandermause) Luedtke.
Germaine was one of those individuals who could do pretty much anything, a real Jane of all Trades. If she couldn’t do it, she would at least give it a try. She taught all of her children how to roof a house and loved making her own firewood, all the way up until her passing. A lover of wildlife and animals in general, she had two horses during her childhood, one named Sugar and one Brownie.
Germaine truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as gardening, crocheting, making homemade flowers, cooking, canning, sewing, and taking care of her animals.
Germaine was employed by Fisher Hamilton in Two Rivers as a painter for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, George (Wendy) Chase, Jr. of Mishicot, Lorena (Brian) Duerschmidt of Two Rivers, Roy (Connie) Chase of Two Creeks, and Stacy (Carla) Chase of Kewaunee; grandchildren, Shauna, Heidi, Phillip, Eric, Shane, Tanya, Lacey, Brian Jr., Erica, Chad, Melissa, Miranda, Randy, and Danielle; and nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Carol) Luedtke, and Larry (Annie) Luedtke; sister, Darlene (Bob) Charles; as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard (Bonnie) Luedtke, Wayne (Lillian) Luedtke, and Roy (Veronica) Luedtke; one great-grandchild; and her ex-husband, George Chase, Sr.
Visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee, 1425 Ellis St. from 3:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023. A closing prayer service will take place at 6:45 pm. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
