Geraldine Elizabeth Tadisch, 86, of Kewaunee, passed away, Wednesday, December 26, 2020, at the Kewaunee Health Services. Gerry was born August 8th, 1934, in Green Bay, to the late Charles H. and Lucille (Bouchonville) Bertrand. On February 19, 1955, she married Joseph Tadisch at St. Joseph’s Church in Norman, where she made her first Communion, solemn Communion and Confirmation. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2017.
She worked at Newell (Mirro Corp), Two Rivers and Manitowoc plants, for 26 years as a press operator, retiring July 1st, 1995. Gerry enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, and working with her flowers. She was active in the church committees at St. Joseph-Norman and St. Isadore the Farmer-Tisch Mills and the Rosary Society. She and Joe received a 50 year Certificate of Merit award from the Knights of Columbus in October 2016. An active member of the Carlton Legion Post #538 Auxiliary, she held several offices in the unit and Bi-County as well as attending the District Conferences. She also enjoyed sewing projects for the Veterans Hospital. Many quilts, laundry bags, and clothing protectors along with crafts for their gift shop were constructed by her hands. Traveling the United States and Canada, her favorite trips were to Cape Cod and Alaska. She enjoyed attending the polka festivals in Nebraska and Minnesota. She truly enjoyed her retirement.
Gerry is survived by her three children: Patricia and James Duescher, Kathleen and Walter Waegli, and Steven and Cynthia (Legois) Tadisch; five grandchildren: Tammy (Gary) Seidl, Victoria (Steven) Dahlke, Ben (Lindsay) Waegli, Krissy (Keith) Kickbusch, and Kari Waegli; nine great grandchildren; Alison, Payton, Brandan, Cole, Zach, Addy, Ava, William, and Kashton; her brother: Leonard (Ruth) Bertrand; sister-in-law: JoAnn Bertrand
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Charlie Bertrand (twin brother) and Linus (Donna) Bertrand, her half-brothers Arnold Bertrand and Gordon Bertrand, her half-sisters Arletta Urban and Eva Unsinn; brother-in-law; Martin (Joann) Tadisch; sisters-in-law: Phyllis (William) Stodola; Elizabeth (Iggy) Grenda and Harriet (Robert) Mott.
Family and friends may call at the St. Isadore, Tisch Mills, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Drury officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Norman.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Kewaunee Health Services and Unity Hospice for the care given to Geraldine, along with Father Dennis Drury and Christal Wavrunek for their visits. Also would like to thank the neighbors friends for their visits, thoughts and cards while Gerry was at the nursing home.
