Gail (Sarbaugh) Hague Donovan

Gail Hague Donovan, age 73 of Kewaunee died peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 at her home.  She was born on September 21, 1947 in Woodstock, IL to the late Robert and Gloria (Messeck) Sarbaugh.

Gail graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1965.  After attending Northern University, she married Richard Hague on April 16, 1966 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1999.

She and Dick moved to Kewaunee in 1980 where he worked with the nuclear power plants until his death.

During her stay in Kewaunee she worked for Kewaunee County Human Services, Kewaunee School District and Kewaunee Area Memorial Hospital.

On September 28, 2002 she married Michael Donovan who worked in the shipyard industry until retiring in 2015.

Gail was a member of the Kewaunee Women’s Club, Investment Club, Gourmet Club, numerous golf leagues, bowling leagues and loved pickleball. She also loved to travel, garden, was an awesome cook and especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; one daughter and son-in-law: Dawn and Marshal Nitti, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Alec, Anthony and Allison; one sister: Pam Spear, Tipton, IA; a sister-in-law: Patty (Mark) Weisse, Clark Lake, WI; brother-in-law: Dan (Julie) Donovan, Wausau, WI; sister-in-law: Madeline (John) Clinge, Harvard, IL; her father-in-law: Lewis Hague, Harvard, IL

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Helen Hague; one grandson: Adam Nitti; a brother-in-law: Tom Spear; her mother-in-law and father-in-law:
Walter and Rose Ann Donovan.

Friends may call after 2:30 Wednesday, July 28 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services.  The funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Howard Batt officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Linden Manor, Bellin Cancer Center, Unity Hospice, Pastor Howard Batt,  Marsha Hayes, Home Instead and Meal Train participants for all the care and concern that they gave Gail and her family.
