With faith in the Resurrection of Jesus, we offer our prayers for Reverend Francis P. Reinke who entered eternal life August 24, 2017, at the age of 86.
Father Reinke was born in Stangelville, on August 13, 1931 to the late John and Frances (Spitzer) Reinke. He attended Kewaunee High School, and studied classics at St. Procopius College, Lisle, Illinois, now known as Benedictine University. He studied theology at St. John Seminary, Collegeville, and St. Paul Seminary, Saint Paul, Minnesota. Bishop Stanislaus V. Bona ordained Father Reinke on June 1, 1957, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay.
Father Reinke’s first appointment was Assistant Pastor of St. Therese Parish, Appleton. He then served as Assistant Pastor of St. Vincent De Paul Parish, Oshkosh, and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Marinette. Father Reinke was appointed Pastor of St. James Parish, White Lake in 1968. He also served as Pastor of SS Peter and Paul Parish, Institute, from 1972 to 1984, and then St. Joseph Parish, Kellnersville, from 1986 to 1988. Other parishes that he served at were St. Patrick Parish, Lebanon, St. Mark Parish, Redgranite, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Poy Sippi. He retired from ministry in 2001.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law: John L. and Judy Reinke, Kewaunee and nephews: Bob, Paul, Tom, Jean, John P. And Michael and their mother Elaine Reinke. Donald Reinke’s wife: Fran and their children: David, Cathy, Ann and John. Fr. Frank was preceded in death by the oldest brother: Donald and his friend and care taker: Marc Loehlein.
Reception of the body by the Regional Vicar, Very Reverend Tony Birdsall, will take place at 5:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Parish, Stangelville, on Monday, August 28, 2017. Visitation will continue until 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. led by Father Dennis Drury. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The Funeral Liturgy, expressing our faith and our hope in the promised glory of the Lord’s Resurrection, will take place on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at St. Therese (St Lawrence site) at N2085 County Road AB in Stangelville, at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Robert Morneau, Celebrant and Homilist. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Stangelville.
