Frank E. Wessely

Frank E. Wessely, 96, Kewaunee, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. He was born on October 13, 1926, to the late Frank and Sibeline (Zika) Wessely. Frank married Marjorie Otto on February 23, 1957. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2022. Frank worked as a foreman in metal fabrication for Gaterman Manufacturing. He also assisted Marge with the rental properties as he could fix anything. He liked working with his hands, being in the woods, loved the outdoors, all wildlife, deer, cats, etc. A musician, he played in several polka bands and the Two Rivers Municipal Band. Loved the Packers. And, another of dad’s hobbies was building large scale model airplanes that could be flown by remote control. After his wife Marge passed he moved into Silver Leaf Manor in Kewaunee, while there he had the opportunity to make new friends and adjust to a new way of living which he did well, the staff there loved his smile and hugs.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dennis Hodges, Sioux Falls, SD, Son, Frank A. Wessely, Manitowoc; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Charlie Vesely, Andover, MN; six grandchildren, Mark Hodges, Sarah (Eddy) Labin, Jacque (Cody) Meyer, Andrea (Brad) Hesse, Charles Vesely, Ben Vesely; great-grandsons, Liam Hesse and Soren Hesse, a step-great-grandson, Wyatt Meyer. And special friend, Jeanne Berg as well as by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death his wife Marge; his parents; and a great-grandson, Evan Hesse; in-laws, Bill (Lorraine) Otto; and Alice (Bud) Herbst.

Visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee, from 10:00-11:30 am on Friday, July 7, 2023, with a funeral service at 11:30 am with Chaplain Josh Officiating.
