Dolores T. Riedy , 94, Casco, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 22, 1922 in Luxemburg, WI to the late Peter and Bertha (Gengler) Arendt. After graduating from Luxemburg High School in 1941, she was employed with the Telephone Company as a switchboard operator in Luxemburg. She married James Riedy, July 19, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Luxemburg. Dolores and Jim farmed all their lives in addition Dolores worked at Leyse's Aluminum. Together they raised 10 children.
She was very involved in the parish activities, Holy Trinity, Casco. She shared her beautiful soprano voice with the congregation as a member of the choir for over 70 years right up until the time of her death. A special joy for her was her gift with children. Other joys were spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, playing board games, cards and Chinese checkers. She had a deep faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin and instilled that in her children.
Dolores is survived by her children, Robert Riedy, Harvard, IL, Ed (Rosario) Riedy, Green Bay, Mike Riedy (friend Laura), Baltimore, MD, Rosemary (Jerry) Stay, Green Bay, Dennis Riedy, Casco, Kathy (Lee) Cornette, Dykesville, Theresa (Russ) Albrecht, Casco, Dave (Amy) Riedy, Luxemburg, Mary (Mike) Kinderman, Appleton, John Riedy, Casco; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; brother-in-law Patrick (sister-in-law/niece Rose) Riedy, Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Mary Riedy, Fort Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; one grandson Chris Cornette; one daughter-in-law, Kim Riedy, her siblings Helen (Sr Edwin), Matthew, Clara, Margaret, Marie, Paul; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law have also preceded her.
Friends may call at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Casco on Tuesday (TODAY) November 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd. Online condolences may be shared here .
Dolores's family wishes to express great gratitude to their brother Dennis who took excellent care of their mother for many years. They also wish to thank the Casco-Lincoln EMR's and Luxemburg Rescue, Aurora Hospital staff and Aurora Hospice.
