Demonica "Dee" A. Krueger , 85, of Algoma passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. She was born on May 4, 1933 in Port Allegany, PA to the late Dewey and Florence (Connelly) McGonnell. Dee was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and then went on to Nursing School at Saint Vincent School of Nursing in Erie, PA. She moved to Algoma to become the Director of Nurses at Algoma Memorial Hospital in 1959. She met the love of her life, Earl Krueger while in Algoma and the two were married in her hometown on August 25, 1962. Dee was a dedicated nurse at the hospital and then the Algoma Long Term Care Unit until she retired in 1997. Faith and family were very important to Dee. As a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she was a humble servant of God that found comfort in prayer. For her family, she was a constant source of love and support. Dee valued her time spent with family whether it was sharing one of her delicious meals, a weekend at the family cottage, playing with her grandchildren or a trip back to Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed cheering for the Packers at Lambeau Field, playing bridge, traveling and attending the performing arts.
Dee is survived by her husband, Earl; her children, Mary Kay (Scott) Bennett, Algoma, Mark (Kevin Rude) Krueger, Wauwatosa, Mara (Terry) Renard, Luxemburg, Melissa (Jon) Packee, Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Brandon and Brianna Bennett, Morgan and Mason Renard, Caroline, Abe, and Lydia Packee; sisters and brother, Jane Lynch, Rita Meehan, and James (Shirley) McGonnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Florence McGonnell, her father and mother-in-law, Earl and Mildred Krueger, sister and brothers, Mary (Russell) Potter, John "Jack" (Dorothy) McGonnell, James Lynch, and Thomas Meehan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Algoma from 4 p.m. until the prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9:30-11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Alvan Amadi officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to capital improvements at St. Mary's Catholic Church or Algoma Long Term Care Unit. Online condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.
