Clyde Shimek

April 26, 1919 — January 21, 2018

Clyde answered the call to our Creator, on Jan. 21, 2018. He was born April 26, 1919 to Frank Edward & Emma (Dvorak) Shimek in the Town of Casco. He graduated from Casco Elementary School & Casco High School. Then went on to the University of Madison. Later he attended NWTC for training as an electrician.

On Sept. 28, 1938 he married Julia Helena (Swoboda) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma, WI. They were dairy farmers on their small farm just west of Casco. Clyde also worked at Bay Ship as a Sheetmetal Journeyman. He liked to fish & hunt at their cottage in Pembine, WI, loved to plant trees and garden. They later bought another farm from a distant cousin & then enjoyed running that farm also. He also had a number of boats through the years and fished extensively on Lake Michigan. He loved hunting everything from rabbits, partridge, pheasant, deer, antelope and even bear. For a number of years he traveled to Wyoming to hunt antelope & deer.

He was awarded a 75 year membership with the COF. He also was on the Casco School Board in the 1950's. He was one of the leaders in the starting of the WI. Feeder Pig Association. After retirement they spent 25 years in their home in Arizona, where he loved to go riding motorcycle, shooting pool w/fellow retirees & picking citrus fruit when in season.

He is survived by one son Clyde G. Shimek of Mesa, AZ & one daughter Daune M. (Shimek), and son in law, James Sisel of Casco WI., and the later wife of Lynette Ann's husband Walter Adams, Lori of Baraboo WI. Six grandchildren: Jackie Shimek of Peoria AZ, Todd & Teri (Beaulieu) Shimek of Peoria AZ., Paul & Marcy (Shimek) Ortiz, Peoria AZ, Kevin & Vickey (Sisel) Ropson) of Edgerton WI., Jamie Sisel Casco, WI, and Wayne  Sandra (Fischer) Sisel, Rosemount, MN., Kristi Adams and Susan & Matt Bett of CA.

Great Grandchildren include: Kristi Mendoza, Renee & (Ed) Hall, Jonathan & (Abagail) Minnesota, Kevin & Daniel Ortiz, Todd, Ashleigh & Jabob (Jake), Shimek, all of Peoria, Az. (Chas) & Heather Tremel of Luxemburg, WI., Adam & (Ashleigh) Haen of Green Bay, WI. Adam & (Hannah) Ropson, Neenah WI, Callie and Joshua Sisel of Rosemont MN. There are also 11 Great, Great Grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were Julia Helena (Swoboda) Shimek, his wife of 73 years, two daughters, Lynette Ann (Shimek) Adams, & her husband Walter Adams of Baraboo WI., and Emma Darlene Shimek, Casco, WI. and two Grandchildren: Karen Michelle Adams, Baraboo, WI. and John David Sisel, Casco, WI. One sister Grace Shimek, Oshkosh, WI. Grace was a triplet, the other two babies died at birth.

Deceased Inlaws include: Carolyn (Swoboda) Golhke of Neenah, WI, George & Anna (Swoboda) Romdenne, Rio Creek, WI Joe (Budd) & Katie (Daul) Swoboda, Luxemburg, WI, John A. & Myrtle (Jennerjohn) Swoboda of Gregorville WI, Charles & Edna (Tlachac) Swoboda, Algoma, WI, Rose (Swoboda) & Clayton Ferron of Sturgeon Bay WI., Emily Swoboda and Mary Swoboda of Gregorville, WI. His parents Frank E. & Emma (Dvorak) Shimek of Casco, WI.

Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Casco is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Services are at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Casco, on Saturday Jan. 27, 2018 with viewing at 9:00 am & Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am w/Father Milton Suess officiating. The family would like to thank Ken Secor the owner of Linden Manor in Kewaunee WI and his Administrator, Mary Kay and her staff for the greatest of care, in his last days. We also would like to thank Bellin Hospital and Dr. Powell for their care, and Unity Hospice for stepping in and administering excellent care for his final days. And a "special thanks" goes out to his Granddaughter Jamie Sisel & Jessica Vandermause CNA, for their wonderful care for the last year or more. And a "special thanks", also goes out to his son-in-law James Sisel for "always being there", for many years, when needed.
