Carol Jerabek Skarvan, age 92 born May 22, 1932, to the late Art and Lena Neuville, Brussels, WI, passed away at Aurora BayCare on March 18, 2025. She married Frank Jerabek on August 5, 1950, and then Ken Skarvan on August 7, 2010.
Recently, we asked Mom, "When you were growing up, what did you wish for your life?" MaMa responded, "I wanted to get married and have children, a family."
Family was the center of Mom's life, and Mom has been the loving center of this family. How did she put three meals on the table (four or five during harvest) for eleven people every day? The brothers say, "Mom never raised her voice to us...and we may have deserved a shout out more than once." We learned about chickens, cattle, gardening, sharing, forgiving, praying, hoping, and taking care of one another from our mother. God blessed us with the best mother in the world.
Mom's favorite hobbies were in the kitchen. She canned shelves of applesauce, pears, tomatoes, peaches, and pickles. She had recipes that made her famous. Her apple squares, sugar cookies, and monster cookies. At Anna's House, Mom's favorite hobby was connecting with family & friends on her iPad. Mom was a CNA at Kewaunee Nursing home in Kewaunee. After that she used these nursing skills when Frank and Carol Jerabek opened the first CBRF in Kewaunee County, Meadow Park.
Carol's death is mourned by her children, Mary Wyman (Rob), Dan Jerabek (Wendy), Terry Jerabek (Lynn), Susan Chilson (Mike), Bill Jerabek (Teri), Dave Jerabek (Sue), Steve Jerabek (Nancy), Tom Jerabek (Kim), and Lori Cash (Dave). 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. As well as by her siblings and their spouses: Louis Neuville, Lee Neuville, Don and Judy Olson, Lon and Vicki Neuville, and Joe and Irene Hucek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Lena Neuville; siblings, Joyce Neuville Eichinger (Calvin), Curtis Neuville (Sidella), Morris Neuville (Dallas), Barb (wife of Lee Neuville), Theresa (wife of Louis Neuville), one infant grandson, and one great-great grandchild.
