Carl Smeester, 85, New Franken, died peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday June 12, 2012. He was born to the late Henry and Ruth (Routhieaux) Smeester on October 21, 1926. On June 28, 1947 Carl married Alvina Zehms at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville. She preceded him in death September 4, 2009.
Carl enjoyed fishing, going for breakfast with his friends and tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his children, Bob (Carol) Smeester, New Franken, Lisa (Efren) Sierra, Green Bay; son-in-law, Andrew Jeanquart; 7 grandchildren, Rob (Vicki) Jeanquart, Wendy (Ken) Simonson, Stacy (Brent) Rouer, Tod (Lisa) Jeanquart, Heidi (Martin) Santos, Jamie DeKeyser, Travis DeKeyser; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers, Alvina Bargmann, Melvin (Dorothy) Smeester, Henry (Phyllis) Smeester. he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Jeanquart; a granddaughter, Lacey DeKeyser; great grandchildren, Zachery Jeanquart and Angel DeKeyser.
Friends may call at Wiesner-Massart, Casco on Thursday June 14th from 3 to 7pm. Funeral Service 7pm Thursday at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
