Betty Mae Swagel, 83, Kewaunee, passed away at home on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Betty was born on October 28, 1939, to the late Adolph and Martha (Ihlendfeldt) Dvorak. Ray Swagel and Betty met on in 1957 at a Memorial Day dance in Denmark and have been together ever since. She married him on January 3, 1959, in Mishicot. Together Betty and Ray ran the family farm. You could find her out milking and caring for the cows as well as driving the tractors, keeping the farm working. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 64+ years, Ray Swagel; children, Joe Swagel, Milt Swagel, Jim (Tammy) Swagel, Mike Swagel, Barb (Rick) Meister; grandchildren, Jon Meister, Tim Meister, and Jessica Swagel; brother-in-law George Swagel; sister-in-law, Carol Dvorak; as well as by nieces and nephews.
